It was in the gorgeous village of Sennen Cove, not far from Land's End, that we stumbled across a small gallery filled with local crafts and paintings. The minute we walked in, we were greeted by the most wonderful autumnal, warming scent. I knew I had to track down where it was coming from.
And then, right in front of me, dotted amongst the impressive ornaments and glass art, were a selection of St Eval candles, handmade in Cornwall.
Although spoilt for choice with the scents Sandalwood, Lemon & Thyme and Inspiritus, I had eyes (or should I say nose) for only one of these candles: Orange & Cinnamon. I could just see me lighting this as the nights get colder - drawing the curtains as it gets dark outside, putting the kettle on and snuggling under a blanket on the sofa, surrounded by this beautiful festive smell.
St Eval offer their candles in a variety of sizes, but because I'm a bit greedy, I opted for the largest one... And the benefit of these ones is not only are they huge, so you get many hours of burning time, but they come in one of their lovely gold ragged pots which can be reused once you've used up all your candle.
My boyfriend and I were holidaying with my parents, and my wonderful Dad treated me to this beauty (Thanks Daddy!) Since we've been home, I've lit this candle so many times, and it really is heavenly. I would definitely suggest adding one of these to your Christmas wish list.
